Australis Highlights Mineral Highlighter Review

Hi beauty lovers,

I received this products from Beauty Review (I will tell you a little bit more about there website at the end of this post) to do a review for there website but thought I would do one on here as well just so I can go a bit more in depth and show some pictures! :)

If you are from New Zealand you can purchase this product from Farmers for around $20 NZ otherwise you can head over to Australis Cosmetics website and order it directly from there http://www.australiscosmetics.com.au/product/44007/mineral-high-lights

You can get the highlighter in two colours, Pearl and Gold, I received the colour Gold which is the darker one of the two. First off I want to start by mentioning how pretty the packaging is! I love the colours it seems to capture your eye which I think is important especially when its in a store with many other make-up brands. You get 15g of product which is a decent amount for the price you pay, you only use a small dot at a time so I know this tube will last me forever! To get the product out it comes with a pump so its easy to access and it doesn't squirt out to much at a time. (which is good so your not wasting the left over product)

These are two pictures of the product applied to my cheekbones. I put a small amount on the back of my hand and then patted it onto my cheekbones with my finger, trying to blend it as much as possible since this product has a bronze colour and I have quite fair skin. (Think the pearl colour would of been better for my skin type) My overall thoughts of this product? It was ok, it gave a very subtle highlight, which i guess i prefer because I don't want overly shiny cheeks haha. The reason I guess I wasn't in love with it was only because it was a little to dark for me, I couldn't seem to blend it in as well as I would like it to of been. Also I found it gave a slight patchy look when you looked at it up close but I didn't mind so much as you cant notice it from far away. Overall I give this product a 4/5, I find it hard to find highlighters in NZ stores so I like how I now know about this one and was able to try it before purchasing it myself!.

Before I go I just wanted to tell you a bit about http://www.beautyreview.co.nz/, if you are from New Zealand go sign up now! I found this website about a month ago and it is amazing. You sign up and the beauty review team select a few people to review products for there website (full sized products might I add) usually they have products for review everyday so you have a good chance of having a go yourself! Not only that but you can find a whole community of people who are just as obsessed with beauty as yourself, you can find tips and tricks or just have a good old conversation with other members. Go check out there website guys :)

Hope you are all having a wonderful day, talk to you soon

October Favourites

Hi beauty bouncers,

Before i get into my favourites I just wanted to make a big apology to all my readers for this post being a bit late! I have been up in Tauranga for a funeral and had no Internet, but I am back now and will be posting regularly again. I hope you have all had a amazing few days and enjoy my October favourites!

Garnier Pure Active - Acne spot ex-foliating scrub
I purchased this product because once coming off the pill for a few months I broke out in acne something sadly I never really experienced when I was younger so I was kind of at a loss on what to do! I wash my face with this every night and have been using it for about a month now. It really does work well, it not only had helped cleared my pimples up but also blackheads (I know, gross right!) This is a reasonable priced product and would recommend it for acne prone skin!
Maybelline Expert Wear - Eyebrow Pencil
I bought this product a few weeks ago because I wanted to try something new for my eyebrows and this product I really do enjoy! I find its the perfect colour and leaves a very natural looking finish to your eyebrows! Being a pencil you can also achieve sharp lines as well.

 L'oreal True Match - Lumi
This is one of the new foundations i decided to try out this month after hearing great things about it on you tube! I was not disappointed at all. It has a medium coverage when applied to the face but this is build able if you wish for more! It's light weight and gives your skin a smooth finish. Best of all it doesn't streak and lasts a long time.
 Covergirl + Olay Powder
Another new product I picked up this month and really enjoyed the final look on my face. This gives amazing coverage but does not at all give you that cakey look that some powders do!
Someday by Justin Bieber
OK so this product I kind of had a love hate relationship with, my first thought was Justin Bieber perfume? for some reason I automatically thought it was going to be targeted at a younger audience and didn't give it a chance. But then I went into Farmers and got a sample and now I can say I was so wrong! I ended up loving the smell and wear it all the time.
 O.P.I - Pink Flamingo
Love this colour, especially for summer/spring! I love bright colours in the summer months, and this is a beautiful Pink!

John Freida - 3 Day straight
OK so this product I borrowed off my mum and never gave it back! Haha. Amazing product I cant talk about it enough!. I have wavy/curly hair (not to mention a annoying flick at the front of my hair that never stays straight!) and this product really does what it says! You spray it in damp hair and then style your hair as usual (blow dry/straighten) my hair was dead straight and it stayed that way! No annoying flick !
Chichi Lipstick - Hollywood wannabe
I actually won this product in a giveaway on instagram. Its very pigmented and gives a matte finish. Doesn't come off (kiss proof! haha) Just an overall lovely coloured lipstick that I'm loving at the moment.

So that's it for my October favourites! I hope you all enjoyed and found some new products that you can try now.

Comment below with some of your October favourites :)

Till Next time

Make-up vs No Make-up

Hi beauty lovers,

I wanted to share some photos with you all, I ended up putting make-up on half of my face and left the other half bare. It was actually quite interesting to see the comparison between the two. I love doing my make-up, its like painting on your face, you can be as creative as you like and yes you can truly change the way your face looks. I am very self conscious of my skin, I stopped the pill for about two months and as soon as i stopped I was hit with a lot of acne :( this was a big change for me as growing up I really never had acne at all, I would have the odd spot but nothing compared to this. So when I don't wear make-up and those blemishes are not covered it does make me self conscious. In saying this I cant express how important it is to give your skin a break!! Make-up is very heavy and it can be very harsh on your skin, this is why I try give it a break from make-up as much as I can and wash my face thoroughly every night. Don't sleep with your make-up on girls, its so bad for your skin!!

Here is a picture of half my face bare and half my face with make-up!

You can clearly see the difference, it was actually very interesting for myself to see the difference as well! On this topic I am thinking about doing a beginners guide to make-up, consisting of everything a beginner should know about make-up and how to apply it! I really hope I can teach a thing or two to some of my readers and I am going to start out with a tutorial on how to fill in your eyebrows, something that I think is very important to finishing off your make-up look!!

Until next time :)

My favourite websites for buying 'beauty' from New Zealand

Ok girls, so if you are a fellow kiwi like me, then you all know how ridiculously over priced make-up etc is here and not only that but if we find a good website to buy off they usually don't ship to New Zealand, or shipping is so overly priced it just makes you not want to buy from there! :( Having this problem i searched around and found some great websites, free shipping, cheap prices and massive sales! I have purchased from all of these websites and they ship fast and everything went smoothly (took about a week to get my parcels, so quick!) These websites are not only for kiwis either so I hope you enjoy some of them just like I do :)

First up is :
http://www.feelunique.com/
This website has free shipping worldwide, super great sales (sign up to the email to get emails about discounts) and cheap prices on things you will love!

http://www.asos.com/?r=2
Another great website! Free shipping worldwide, cheap prices not only on beauty related items but clothes and accesories too. This website has so many sales on Rimmel products, I got my stay matte powder for $4.99 !

http://buy.ilovebeauty.co.nz/
This is a fairly new New Zealand website, it doesn't have free shipping but you can find some good bargains

http://www.makeupclearance.co.nz/
Another New Zealand website, this website has some crazy deals on make-up, so cheap!

I hope you love these websites as much as I do, I love sharing my great finds with my readers! Enjoy :)

Winged Eyeliner Tutorial?

Leave some comments on this post if you would like to see a in depth tutorial on my easy way of achieving this look :)

Rimmel Review ! :)

Hi beauty lovers,

So before I get into the review I would like to mention where I brought these two products from.
http://www.asos.com/Women/Beauty/Cat/pgehtml.aspx?cid=1314&via=lhn

I purchased the Rimmel stay matte powder and the Rimmel Scandalous Kohl eyeliner in Nude.
At the time they were having a 30% of sale on all Rimmel this meaning I got both of these products for $10NZ and free shipping.
I cant express enough how cheap this is for both of these products in New Zealand it really was a bargain and it came to my door within a week. Check out there website for cheap make-up :)
I did purchase both of these products with my own money.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
004 Nude

These arrived at my door on Friday afternoon, perfect timing as I was going out that night so it was perfect to test them! I was worried that the colour would not be right as I have never tried this powder before and didn't know my colour but when I applied it, it was the perfect colour for me. Luckily haha. I wore the Stay Matte powder over the top of my Maybelline Photo Ready foundation and it literally did stay on all night. Now i have a combination skin my T zone is quite oily where as my cheeks and corners of the nose are quite dry. I was pleased that this powder did what it says it did and took away the oiliness off my zone but the thing that impressed me the most as it did not clump around my dry patches either. The finished look I loved and can now see all the hype that has been built up over this powder. Overall this is a bargain for what you pay for it and i would highly recommend it.

Scandalous Kohl Eye-liner
Nude

Now I have wanted a Nude eye-liner for a while now and as this one was so cheap I thought why not? I applied this too my water line as Nude eye-liner is supposed to make your eyes more bright and make them appear bigger. Did this product live up to my expectations? Yes and no. I can defiantly say it stayed on my water line most of the night which was something i really liked as eye-liner doesn't usually do that for me. Yes it did make my eyes appear brighter but i found the colour a little to orangey for my liking. If the colour wasn't so range I think I wouldn't have anything bad to say about this product. Its defiantly good value for money i would just not advise this product to people with quite fair skin as it can look quite orangey on the eyes.

I hope you liked this short review. If you guys have any products you would like me to review for you, or and tutorials just anything basically leave a comment and I will gladly get onto it for you guys :)

Hope you have a good rest of the day! Talk to you soon.

20 amazing beauty tips you need too know!

Hi beauty lovers,

So today i thought i would give you all some of my favourite beauty tips that work!
Try some out and let me know how it goes :)

1. Mix a tiny amount of tanning lotion in with your day cream to give your skin a radiant glow.

2. Best way to style curly hair? Apply a bit of conditioner while hair is still wet and twist it into big sections. This enhances natural curl and controls flyaways.

3. Eye shadow doesnt stay on long? Apply a cream shadow as a base, the slightly tacky texture will ensure that powders adhere better to your eyelid.

4. After you apply your lipstick, put your finger in your mouth and suck on it as you withdraw it. This gets rid of excess lipstick.

5. Favourite lipgloss is too sticky? Run an ice cube along your lips after applying, this should help dilute some of that gloop!

6. Greasy hair? For a quick fix you can use facial blotting papers on the hair. They will absorb the oil.

7. When applying foundation start at the centre of the face then blend out and down.

8. When selecting a foundation shade, test it on your chest rather than your face as this provides the best indicator of your true colouring.

9. Heat will cause a perfume to deteriate so store it in the fridge.

9. If you like a dewy foundation finish apply it with a sponge.

10.  Always blink into your mascara wand for extra curl.

11. To find the ideal blush shade for you, bend over for 30 seconds then see what colour your cheeks turn.

12. For the ultimate blow dry use a round natural bristly brush.

13. When using false lashes the golden rule is to always let the glue go tacky for 10-15 seconds before you apply the lashes.

14. For dehydrated skin, press a hot wet cloth gently on your face for a couple of minutes, follow with moisturiser.

15. When blow drying, insure hair is totally dry before styling, otherwise it wont hold for long.

16. If you need to clean up eyeshadow fallout, do it with a fan brush.

17. You can use perfume on a cotton bud to remove hair dye from around the hairline.

18. To prevent folish from chipping, seal each coat by brushing the tip of the nail.

19. Pop on a shower cap for five minutes to help maximise the effectivness of conditioning products. Then rinse out.

20. Between testing fragrances sniff the inside of your elbow as this area is odour neutral.

So thats 20 tips for you guys, i hope you enjoyed this post :)

Reviews, Brushes, BB Cream and Lippie !!

Hi Beauty Lovers,

I'm back and thought id give you guys a post about my thoughts on a few items I've purchased over the past week.

The first items I purchased where two brushes a angled blush brush, and a flat top. I purchased these two brushes off costalcents.com. If your looking for cheap quality make-up and brushes I would defiantly check out this website, and they ship worldwide so everyone can have the pleasure of shopping there :)

These are the two brushes I purchased:

My honest opinion of these brushes? I absolutely love them! There sturdy, they apply make-up evenly and I've experienced none of the single brush hairs falling out which is a massive plus for me when buying new brushes. Who wants hairs in there make-up right?

I purchased these brushes off the website above with my own money, and together they came to $6 (New Zealand Currency) for me that was an absolute bargain. Getting good brushes in New Zealand is very hard as shipping always costs so much. I would highly recommend these brushes and would love to try out the sets they have as well.

The next product i purchased was the Lioele BB cream. I purchased this off the website hikosencara-nz.com

I think i purchased this for around $34 ( New Zealand Currency) which was a bit pricey for a BB cream but from all the raves id heard about this product I had to buy it and test it out for myself. Well I can now say it is worth every scent. This product is amazing ! I've been using it over the past week and it has made my skin feel and look so much better. It gives enough coverage to be able to wear it as your main foundation, it moisturises your skin and it gives a dewy hydrated finish. Overall I am so glad I bought this product and can say I will defiantly be re purchasing it in the future.

And the last product I picked up over the last week was a Maybelline colour essential lipstick in Rosy Dream, I just picked this up from my local drug store and it was around $20 ( New Zealand Currency)

I badly needed a nude pink lipstick so when I went into the shop and found this one I purchased it straight away, but now after testing it out I can say I don't think it is worth what I paid for and is my least favourite product out of all the things I purchased. Its a beautiful colour when swatched on my hand, the perfect colour really. But when applied to my lips it didn't look good at all. It came off so easily and looked patchy on my lips. I was so disappointed with this product, I would love to hear if anyone else has tried it and what you think about it ?

I Hope everyone is having a fabulous week, update you soon
Ashleigh xx

Stilla Natural Eye-shadow palette review !!

Hi beautyy lovers :)

So here is the long awaited review on the stilla natural eyeshadow palette, had a few issues trying to upload the pictures to my computer but i got it too work so here it is :) Oh and before i forget follow me on twitter : @Beautyybounce

So i bought the palette off beautybay.com and recieved it in the mail a few weeks ago. It comes with 10 eyeshadows and 1 brown eyeliner ( have yet to try the eyeliner but will let you know if its any good when i do ). I can say since i have recieved the palette i have been using it every single day.

Every single colour is so pigmented ( when i upload the pictures of them swatched on my hand you wont be able to see the first colour as its the same colour as my skin tone haha, but works as a great highlighter) you dont need to use a lot as one swipe will be enough to get the colour result you want.

Okay so these are the first 5 colours off the top row.

Going from left to right:

1. Bare ( very hard to see as its the same colour as my skin tone haha)
2. Kitten
3. Bliss
4. Sunset
5. Sandstone

And the second 5 colours off the bottom row of the palette.

Going from left to right:

1.Champagne
2. Gilded gold
3. luster
4. Night sky
5. Ebony

As much as i have used them i have found that they do not crease at all, and seem to last all day which is a big plus! I think i paid around $30 (new zealand currency) which is super cheap for new zealand as you can buy just the one shadow sometimes for the same price!

Overall i would definatly recommend you investing in one of these palettes, the looks you can create out of these 10 eyeshadows are endless. Plus a bonus for travelling if you dont want to take too much make up!!

I have done a tutorial using 3 of the eyeshadows and will upload if you guys would like to see some of the looks you can create using the palette :)

Hope you enjoyed the review and cant wait to hear what you all think!!

Talk too you again very soon.

xoxo

Welcome to my new blog

Hi Beauty Lovers :)

This is just a short post explaining what this whole blog will be about and a little preview of what i will be doing for my first blog post.

I will be doing a bunch of different things and will be uploading new blogs frequently all depending how popular this blog gets. I made this blog as i have always been in love with make-up, beauty and hair. I completed both a hairdressing and make up course so am excited to share my knowledge with all of you.

I was going to start a beauty channel on you tube since i was so inspired with two beauty gurus in particular that you may have already heard of.

The first is Shannon i watch her videos religiously and recommend checking her out if you haven't already, here's her link to her you tube channel:
 http://www.youtube.com/user/shaaanxo
 or her twitter: https://twitter.com/xoshaaan

And the second is Karissa i found her page through shaanxo and now fell in love with her videos as well she is so sweet and down to earth and you will defiantly love her videos as much as i do. Her link is : http://www.youtube.com/user/saturdaynightsalrite
or her twitter :https://twitter.com/satnightalrite

Anyways i decided to do something a little different as there is so many beauty gurus on YouTube already i decided to make a beauty blog and basically that is how this whole blog started :)

I will be including things such as - Make up and hair product reviews, Hauls, Tutorials either through pictures or videos, blogging about what i am getting up too, question and answer blogs and much much more :)

My very first post (after this one haha) will be a product review of the Stilla natural eye shadow palette. I just received this and am so so glad i decided to purchase it.

So stay tuned for the review and i may even chuck in a tutorial using the palette as well.

I hope you all have a fab rest of your day and will talk to you all in my next post !!

xoxo
